Congratulations to the team at the Rum & Sugar. It’s mouth-watering, Caribbean-influenced menu scooped the Menu of the Year award at the SLC (Sport & Leisure Catering) Awards 2017.
The SLC Awards spotlight caterers taking food and beverage to new heights across the UK’s visitor attractions and sport arenas. Rum & Sugar’s menu, which was introduced earlier this year as part of the rum bar and restaurant’s tropical makeover, certainly caught the judge’s attention.
Joe Bill, the editor of Sport & Leisure Catering magazine, said: “The judging panel was impressed with how well the Rum & Sugar menu reflects the host venue and its history. Being able to offer themed food that both caters for daytime tourists at the museum, while also satisfying the locals heading to the bar in the evening, is no easy skill. By creating a genuine destination F&B concept in a sports and leisure venue, Rum & Sugar has demonstrated what can be achieved when high quality food and drink harnesses the narrative of its surroundings.”
The Rum & Sugar team collected the award, in front of 200 industry colleagues, at the award ceremony at BAFTA London on Tuesday 12 September.
