FS CATEYS 2018 Finalists revealed: 4 in the shortlist for CH&CO
Recognising people and teams from across the food service sector, this peer-group set of awards identifies those who have gone the extra mile over the last 12 months and worked diligently to provide customers, as well as their own people, with an above and beyond service every day. From CSR practices to chef development and from on-site teams to support teams – a FS Catey is one of the crowns in our industry that everybody wants.
This year we are shortlisted in 4 categories including: Chef of the Year (public) for Executive Head Chef, Darren Archer from CH&CO Venues, Chef of the Year (private) for Executive Chef, Karen Poynter from CH&CO Livery and, the People & Development team for the HR award and Training award.
Karen is responsible for the chef team across our livery sites. Over the last 12 months, Karen has played a pivotal role in the retention or contract extension of several high-profile accounts as well as continued personal goal of developing her team and future chefs.
Darren supports a team of five chefs at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) and is responsible for the nine event spaces and The Vaults at the venue. Over the last 6 years Darren has built a great team, increased profitability and developed new food offerings.
From launching the perfect learning guide, delivering a company-wide world class customer service programme and creating geographical HR leaders to ensure hands-on support is available for every part of the business, the entire People & Development team have developed a strong culture of continuous learning for all and made the HR function a core part of the business.
On Friday 12th October, in front of hundreds of peers from across the industry, the winners of the awards will be announced. Many congratulations to Karen, Darren and the People & Development team – good luck!
