Double success at the Acorn Awards 2018
CH&CO is celebrating the success of two of its rising stars, Hannah Robson, head of Bespoke Events, and Rob Burden, HR business partner, who have joined the alumni of the famous Acorn Awards.
Each year, these prestigious awards recognise 30 of the industry’s most talented stars aged under 30.
Hannah joined Concerto Group in 2012 in her placement year whilst studying for a BA Hons: Event Management from Hertfordshire University, and hasn’t looked back. Thanks to her fantastic client liaison, event and time management skills, she progressed quickly following her graduation, gaining further skills and the responsibility of managing people. Hannah was the ideal candidate to head up the Bespoke events side of the business and today she manages three departments, a team of nine and generates revenues of £2m.
Rob started his career as a voluntary Human Resources Advisor with Dairy Crest at age 17, and the rest, as they say, is history. With a hunger for a career in HR, he progressed through the ranks quickly working for a defence company, where his knowledge, experience and talent grew. Rob has thrived since joining CH&CO and at just 24, he provides support and guidance to over 1900 employees across London. In 2017, Rob deservedly scooped the HR in Hospitality “Rising Star of The Year” award.
Hannah and Rob received their awards at a special event held at the Grade II-listed Lygon Arms hotel in Broadway, Worcestershire. Joining their fellow Acorn winners, they enjoyed a weekend of celebratory activities including a welcome dinner and a team-building exercise testing their ‘Apprentice-style’ scavenging and football-related teamwork skills. At the presentation ceremony, Hannah and Rob collected their trophies and were proudly joined by chief operating officer, Terry Waldron and group HR director, Alison Gilbert.
