CH&CO’s talented apprentice scoops Craft Guild of Chefs Award

Congratulations to John Howarth, winner of the 2018 Craft Guild of Chefs Apprentice Award.

John is a third-year apprentice who has a real, genuine flair for food and ingredients and a great palate. His apprenticeship has given him a wide range of experience, working across various venues, including Hampton Court Palace. He also spent a year at Mansion House, the home and office of the Lord Mayor of London.

This isn’t the first time that John has shown his exceptional talent and potential. He was one of six finalists in the 2017 Nestle Toque D’Or Apprentice competition, won silver best in class at Hotelympia International Salon Culinaire for his starter plates, and is in the running for the 2018 Toque O’Or Apprentice too.

Aged 24, John is already a Springboard Ambassador, eager to give back to the industry what he’s learning.

A well-deserved winner, and definitely one to watch. Congratulations John!
