Café at the Palace scoops SLC Award

Congratulations to the team at the Café at the Palace in Edinburgh, who scooped the Heritage & Arts Establishment of the Year award at the SLC Awards 2019.

Laura Amos, the general manager for CH&CO at the popular Scottish destination, collected the coveted trophy at the special awards event at 30 Euston Square, London on Wednesday 11 September.

The SLC Award Heritage & Arts Establishment category spotlights venues, including heritage and historical visitor attractions, focusing on the guest experience and how they compete against high street restaurants.

The team at the Café at the Palace came out on top for the uplifting, memorable experience it creates for the 186,000 and growing visitors it welcomes every year. Under Laura’s dynamic leadership, footfall has significantly increased through the celebration of Scottish produce, development of the Afternoon Tea offer and innovative approach to marketing that has made it a destination of choice for visitors to Edinburgh and local residents alike.

Laura Amos said: “What a fantastic night! We’re so proud to have won this award. The whole team deserves this recognition. Everyone works really hard to create memorable and authentic experiences for both the tourists and locals that visit the Café at the Palace. We’re proud to showcase the fantastic produce of Scotland and we’re always looking for exciting and innovative ways to develop the menu and offer and put a smile on our customers’ faces. A big thank you to everyone that has supported us.”
