At last night’s FSM Awards, Founding Partners of The Brookwood Partnership, Kate Martin and Sue Parfett received the Lifetime Achievement award for their services to education catering.
To a standing ovation from colleagues and peers, Kate and Sue collected the award remembering their long-term friend and fellow founder of Brookwood, Graham Sibthorp, by dedicating the win to him in his memory.
Announcing this year’s winner, the judges commented on how Kate and Sue led Brookwood in achieving numerous ‘firsts’ during the caterer’s 21-year history. These ‘firsts’ included being ranked 2nd in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to work for and the first schools’ caterer to achieve the top-level 3-star food made good rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
Collecting the award, Kate and Sue said, “It was an amazing night, lots of emotion and we were very touched to receive a standing ovation from the room. We are very proud of our achievements over the last 21 years and dedicate this award to our friend, colleague and fellow founder Graham”.
Congratulations must also go to our colleagues for their achievements in making the 2017 shortlist. This includes Rebecca Cupitt, Group Manager for Lusso for the Business & Industry Award, Laura Amos, General Manager for Ampersand in the Sports & Leisure category and Jonas Gundayao, Chef at Brookwood for Chef of the Year award.
